A CHARTER ORDINANCE AMENDING K.S.A. 1974 SUPPLEMENT 15-201 RELATING TO ELECTION OF OFFICERS, TERMS, VACANCIES.
Be it hereby ordained by the governing body of the City of Bird City, Kansas.
SECTION ONE. A
city election to elect the officers of the governing body shall be held the
first Tuesday in April, 1977, and every two years thereafter on the FIRST (1st)
Tuesday in April.
SECTION TWO. At
the city election in 1977, there shall be elected FIVE (5) councilmen and a
mayor who shall comprise the governing body of the City of Bird City, Kansas.
At said election the mayor shall be elected for a term of FOUR (4) years; of
the FIVE (5) councilmen elected, the TWO (2) elected councilmen receiving the highest
number of votes shall serve for FOUR (4) year terms. The remaining THREE (3)
elected councilmen shall serve for TWO (2) year terms.
SECTION THREE. At
the city election in 1979, there shall be elected THREE (3) councilmen for a
FOUR (4) year term. Thereafter, and at each election there after the officials
elected, whether mayor or councilman, shall serve for FOUR (4) year terms.
