Utility Lines: as used in this article, utility lines refer to any water line, gas line, electrical line, phone line, cable TV line, or other conduits which convey energy, materials or services to one or more members of the public.
Person: as used in this article person refers to any natural person or corporation, partnership, Jim ted liability partnership or other business form of operation.

That any person installing water lines, gas lines, cable TV lines, telephone lines, or otherwise excavating the soil for the installing of utility lines shall contact the City Office of the City of Bird City to 1rst learn the location existing utility lines to extent shown by City records.

That no utility lines or water lines, shall be installed by any person cement of the utility or water line has been approved by the City of Bird City or its designee.

That all utility lines must be laid three feet from existing water lines, EXCEPT where it is necessary to cross the water lines, in which case the person installing the utility line shall place a tie or some other obstacle which will not decay twelve inches (12”) above the point where the utility line crosses a city water line.

All persons installing utility lines shall provide a map of the lines installed to the City of Bird City.

This article shall in no wise reduce or alter the responsibility of any person installing utility lines under existing ordinances and laws.

(a) Any person violating this article shall hold the City harmless from any damage that may result from City operations due to the failure of that person to act in accordance with this article.
(b) Any person violating this article shall in addition, upon a plea of guilty or finding of guilty shall be subject to a fine not to exceed $75.
